Who We Are
Behind every Comp-Utility project is a team of engineers, technicians, and partners who treat your uptime as their own. Since 1992, we have built a reputation on doing the work right, standing behind it, and answering the call when facilities need us most.
Our Story

Comp-Utility was founded in 1992 by Randy Collier, a licensed professional engineer and UT Austin mechanical engineering graduate. When Randy acquired the business from Dallas-based CompuTechs, he identified a gap the industry had ignored: the organizations most dependent on their critical infrastructure had no single partner accountable for all of it.
Over the next three decades, Randy grew Comp-Utility into a firm that critical facility operators could stake their uptime on. One point of contact. One team that showed up and got it done.
In 2025, the company entered its next chapter. Noah Berko and Jacob Zweig acquired Comp-Utility with a clear mandate: scale what Randy built without compromising what made it work. Randy remains President and a central part of the business, lending three decades of institutional knowledge to the next phase of growth.
The result is a company that combines hard-won field expertise with modern engineering discipline and the operational rigor to grow. While technology advances and our markets expand, the standard we hold ourselves to will never change.

Our People & Culture
Comp-Utility is owned and operated by engineers, and that mindset runs through everything we do. Our team of licensed professionals, field technicians, and project managers takes pride in solving hard problems and standing behind the work long after a project is commissioned.
As the company continues to grow, we remain dedicated to building a culture rooted in craftsmanship, accountability, and continuous learning, the kind of environment where talented people can do their best work and grow their careers.
